Salisbury, Maryland - Stream & Wetland Mitigation Design/Build -Tidal Stream and Wetland Construction Contracted for $1.4 M
This project involved the design, construction and planting of two tidal stream channels as part of a hazardous waste remediation project. The channels were designed to replace, or exceed, the habitat value of those impacted. As a part of the restoration, the stream banks were covered with coir fiber and coir biologs as slope toe protection at the tidal interface. Planting occurred within the channel and on the banks. In addition, 15 acres of tidal and nontidal wetlands were constructed and planted. After completion, the streams and wetlands were monitored for compliance by Ecological Restoration, Inc. (ERI). Reports were submitted to the jurisdictional agencies for review. ERI received a Certificate of Recognition for our efforts in this project. The certificate was presented jointly by our client and the MD Dept. of Environmental Protection.
